Livon Colour Protect Hair Serum Review

Hope you are safe, healthy and spending time at home. I am away from my family in a different city, and the lockdown has been difficult for me. Nonetheless, I am trying to find the silver lining amidst these dark times, resting, recharging and working from home. In this post, I am reviewing a hair serum; have used multiple variants of the Livon serum and hence couldn’t resist myself from picking up the color protect version. Read on for more details on Livon Colour Protect Hair Serum.

Livon Colour Protect Hair Serum

INR 250 for 59 ml.
Product Description:
Livon Colour Protect Hair Serum with UV Protect & Moroccan Argan Oil is designed especially for your coloured hair. Don’t you just love our colour but hate how fast it fades? In just a few washes and thanks to the sun, colour fades quickly leaving your hair looking oh-so dull! Flaming red ends up becoming a dull brown or gold starts looking like faded yellow in just a few weeks. Introducing Livon Colour Protect Serum. Use Livon Colour Protect Serum every time you wash your hair and right before you step out into the sun. What do you get? Longer lasting, salon-like colour that looks as vibrant as it did on Day 1!

My Experience with Livon Colour Protect Hair Serum:

Livon has taken the notch up with this packaging. It is a sleek, pink-tinted transparent bottle with a pump dispenser. The gold accents add to the elegance of the bottle, making it look more expensive and luxurious. Very basic product details are mentioned on the bottle. The bottle comes in a lightweight, funky cardboard packaging, housing essential product information. Overall, I totally adore the attractive and functional packaging.

The serum consistency is absolutely perfect, not very runny neither very thick. The viscosity is best to rub in your palms and smooth your strands, without making them look very greasy. There is a typical artificial scent, common across many of Livon products.

It smoothens frizz and fly-aways, giving a neater and tamed mane. It does make detangling a much easier job, helping get rid of stubborn knots. My hair feels a lot more manageable and soft, courtesy this. It also adds a healthy subtle shine, without going overboard.

Coming to its efficacy for color protection, I haven’t been able to pin-point its particular ability to make my hair color last longer. It does provide UV protection, with my hair looking less dull even when I step out in the sun. This might be a teeny bit better than the other Livon serums, however nothing extremely extraordinary. For the price point, it does its job well and I don’t have any regrets.

Pros of Livon Colour Protect Hair Serum:

  • Beautiful packaging.
  • Affordable and easily available.
  • Lightweight and non-greasy texture.
  • Tames frizz and fly-aways.
  • Hair looks healthier, softer and shinier.
  • Protects from sun damage

Cons of Livon Colour Protect Hair Serum:

  • Not sure about if hair color lasts longer with this, but definitely looks better.
